Moving to Prince Albert

The “hustle and bustle”, the “two-hour commute”, the “gridlocked concrete jungle” . . . people in Prince Albert have heard these terms but don’t really identify with them. They’re like something from television - you know these things are real somewhere, but here it seems like a fiction.

People in Prince Albert enjoy a relaxed urban life where a ten-minute drive puts you on the other side of town and an hour in any direction puts you in the heart of the wilderness. Prince Albert is a place where families can be what they ought to be and where individuals can become what they want to be. It’s home. Take a look around Prince Albert through the variety of tours available on this website!

Despite its small town feel, Prince Albert is not lacking in amenities. There are all the comforts of big city life without the hassle and headache. Real Estate is affordable, the cost of living is low and the people are friendly. There are a host of restaurants and entertainment opportunities, outdoor activities and cultural events. There are remarkable opportunities for business and investment as well. Most first-time visitors to the city are amazed by the city’s beauty and charm. Many of those visitors never went home; they liked Prince Albert that much.

In an age where dollars are harder to find and time with loved ones is at a premium, it only makes sense to move to a place where you have to pay less to live. If you don’t need to work so much, you’ll have more time to take the kids fishing, go golfing, see a movie or walk the dog. It’s about quality of life and having the freedom to do what you want, when you want to.

Spending less on your mortgage, taxes and other expenses also means you can put more money away – for travel, retirement or your children’s education. Think about it – selling a modest home in a larger centre and purchasing the same house in Prince Albert could mean tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars in your pocket. A person wouldn’t need to work so hard if there were those kind of numbers in their bank account . . .

Already, Saskatchewan is seeing people relocate to take advantage of the things it has to offer. Those in the technology trades are realizing that their products are digital and can be shipped anywhere at the push of a button. They could be working on their laptop, out on their sun-drenched patio in P.A. while their competition pays big money to rent an office in Vancouver. And being more central to Canada as a whole, the market is twice as big as it is for those who are based solely in the west.

Quality of Life” – it’s a term that is starting to fade in the memory of our youth. Our children are growing up to think that it’s normal to drive an hour or more to work each day or to spend 60 hours a week at the office. In some places it may be necessary, but it’s certainly not normal. The “sit-down meal” and “backyard barbeque” are everyday occurrences in a place like Prince Albert.

You can head out on the links after work, golf 18 holes and still be home to catch the late show. Where else can you do that? You can take an afternoon drive to a national park and be back in time for supper with the Smiths! Not on the lower mainland, that’s for sure.

Come for a visit, but be careful. You might not want to leave . . . Check out our Real Estate page as well!
