Prince Albert
and Northern Saskatchewan are becoming a Mecca for fishermen and fisherwomen
of all ages. If it’s fast and furious you’re looking for, the Northern
Pike will give you a run for your money. For the more calculating, there are
schools of pickerel and perch for your sporting pleasure. Whitefish, goldeye
and grayling are also in abundance to the north. It’s
a little known fact, but Saskatchewan also has numerous species of trophy trout.
Brookies, Rainbows, Browns, Tigers and Splake haunt the often overlooked stocked
trout waters of this majestic place. And if you have a heavy enough rod, the
Lake Trout – a relative of the Arctic Char – is the game fish for
you. But if paddling
is more your flare, there is still no better place to be than Prince Albert.
From the mighty North Saskatchewan River – an historic fur trading route
– to the serene lakes of any one of our provincial parks, the still waters
await. There is even some whitewater to the north for those who seek the thrill
. . .
